MISSION STATEMENT and SITE TIPS

MISSION STATEMENT
I'm grateful and in awe of anyone who archives images for a fandom, but - and this perfectly understandable - they always concerntrate solely on the series stars. As an artist it's frustrating not being able to find that one image of the bad guy or the hero's car that you really want to finish off your collage or to decorate your site.

So my plan is to try and include as many of the guest characters that I can, as well as fight scenes and location shots and other images that I think might be of interest.

I'm hoping to devote much of this site to screen caps from the Magnificent Seven. Whilst there are images from the episodes available on the net I feel that there's a need for an comprehensive episode archive. I don't know if I'll succeed - but I'm definitely going to try *G*. I'm also looking to set up a links page for any and all M7 image archives - so if you know of one, tell me about it!

I'm also planning to include screencaps from and of the actors from my other favourite series The Sentinel. Starfox has an excellent gallery of Sentinel episode images here and I have no plans to recreate that, but I do hope to post some caps from the actors' other roles and any 'extras' I can find such as the various guest stars or recurring characters.

SITE TIPS
There's just a few points to note before you go rushing over to view the pics.

1) Don't rush. They are going to be on site for quite some time so there's no need to grab everything at once. This is meant to be a resource. Bookmark the site and browse later.

2) Don't download every pic if you don't need it. If everyone starts trying to copy the pics the bandwidth goes out the window and the webhost sends me niggly little letters saying I've exceed my quota and I can't get in for the rest of the month :-)

3) The screencap process I use has created a small black band across the top of each image. If you know how to crop an image it's easily removed. If you have any problems just ask me and I'll help out.

4) Some of the pictures appear very dark. In a few cases I've adjusted the gamma/brightness on the captures but for the most part I've left them as they were when capped. This because a) it's a very time consuming task to go through and adjust each and every pic. I've tried to do it in batches but the original images are not uniform in tone anyway and b) my idea of 'correct' brightness might not be the same as another persons, so it is better to let you fix it yourself. If you have problems - I'm just an email away.

5) When moving between the pages of pictures for each episode, please use the 'back' button on your browser to move back to the main M7 page rather than the 'Home' link on the bottom of the page. This is only because that the process used to create the web pages only links back to a parent directory. I have go in and adjust the code for each page - another time consuming task that I'm saving for a day when I'm really, *really* bored.
